This week we began our preproduction meetings for Awkward Silence, needless to say I have a good feeling about this. We discussed what needed to be done, this ranged from setting audition dates to going location scouting. One of the things I've learned in filmmaking is that the more you put into preproduction, the better your product will be.
Though the goal is to shoot by the end of the year, we still want to take our time and make sure everything is planned down to the smallest detail. This can go anywhere from making modifications to the script, finding the right wardrobe, crafting the art design, and even more so finding the right actors. Casting is one of my biggest concerns, I just don't want to get someone for the sake that they are pretty good or I guess we have no one else, but I want to cast people that I'm confident will perform their part with the outmost love and care. Auditions will be held in the next couple of weeks, I'll be posting behind the scenes photos and announcing the cast as soon as it becomes available. For the time being you can follow our progress by clicking the "Awkward Silence" Tab located above. We will soon have a website for the project as well as social media outlets. Another area that was thrown into the hat was getting funding for this film. That is where Kickstarter will come in, so stay tune for more info once we get our campaign going. I feel that we are off to a great start and as long as we keep the momentum going, we should be able to start principal photography sometime in late October/early November. Keep us in your prayers. -Manuel Montanez
