After weeks of researching, writing, stressing and procrastinating, I have finally finished the script for "Awkward Silence." My goal was to finish it by the end of the month and I was able to do so. I feel like celebrating, its been awhile since I've written a script for a personal project and actually finished it.
I guess that's how it is, you can have an idea for a story, start working on it, then all of the sudden another idea pops up. You rush to work on the new idea but end up leaving the previous project on the back burner. Let's just say I have a nice collection of back burners. I can already see that I will be making revisions here and there, mainly because the constant thoughts of,"Does this work? Will the Audience react? How can I make this stronger?", always seems to dance in my head. For the most part the plot, structure and characters are in place, so at the very least I have the main foundation for this story. With that being said, it's time to start building a crew and auditioning a cast. The real challenge will be finding the lead roles, not only am I looking for someone who can act, but there is a specific "talent" that I need them to perform. As the weeks go by I plan on adding a section to my website for "Awkward Silence," and eventually create a personal website for it. You'll be able to follow updates on the film's progress, read cast and crew profiles, see behind the scenes photos and eventually find info on when and where it will be screening. Here's to Goodtimes! -Manuel Montanez
